The Myers Briggs Test and Myers Briggs Testing UK
I have noticed some of the questions we get asked most are ‘do you do Myers Briggs testing ?’ or ‘do you offer the Myers Briggs Test?’
The problem I have is that the perception most people have is that the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a test and so they ask about ‘Myers Briggs testing’ or ‘the Myers Briggs test’, whereas, as the name; Myers Briggs Type Indicator, suggests, the questionnaire provides an indication of personality type and so it is not a test.
Myers Briggs Testing using the Myers Briggs Test suggests you can get the answers right or wrong whereas the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) simply indicates which personality preferences you have.
In particular the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) provides an indication of preferences on four dimensions of personality – where you get your energy from (Introversion or Extroversion), how you take in data (Sensing or Intuition), how you make decisions (Thinking or Feeling) and how you work with the world (Judging or Perceiving). There are ‘good day’ and ‘less-good day’ behaviours for all the preferences so there are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers. Research has shown that by using the Myers- Briggs Type indicator individuals become more self-aware and aware of the preferences of others and this leads to improved performance when managing and working with others.
So, yes we do Myers Briggs testing and yes we offer the Myers Briggs Test if you mean ‘do we administer the MBTI questionnaire and provide feedback for individuals and teams!
